Dr. Luis Allende from the University of Madrid will present real-world examples from a clinical immunology department to illustrate how to apply cell sorting in clinical diagnostics and translational research.


After an overview of lymphoproliferative disorders in inborn errors of immunity, Dr. Allende will present three focused case studies.


By the close of the webinar, you will know:


  • How cell sorting lets you detect and validate somatic mutations in autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome, and how it enables molecular characterization in large granular lymphocyte leukemia
  • How to use isolated immune cell subsets for functional epigenetic validation of candidate variants (e.g., TET2)
  • Practical sorting strategies to ensure purity and downstream assay compatibility for immunology research and diagnostics


You will see how cell sorting enables molecular characterization of somatic autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (sALPS), supports functional validation of a TET2 candidate variant through epigenetic analysis, and aids the study of molecular variants in large granular lymphocyte leukemia (LGLL). Together, these examples demonstrate how isolating specific immune cell populations can uncover low-level somatic variants and clarify disease mechanisms.
