Wat is een laboratoriumoven?
Een laboratoriumoven is een instrument dat ontworpen is voor het drogen in een laboratorium. Een laboratoriumoven maakt meestal gebruik van elektrische verwarmingselementen om de kamer van 4 kanten te verwarmen. De temperatuur wordt gemeten door een nauwkeurige pt-sensor in de kamer. Het temperatuurbereik gaat meestal tot 300°C.
Wat is het verschil tussen een laboratoriumoven en een laboratoriumbroedstoof?
Vanuit technologisch oogpunt lijken deze 2 instrumenten erg op elkaar. Ze gebruiken allebei elektrische verwarmingselementen aan 4 zijden om de temperatuur te regelen. Een laboratoriumincubator is ontworpen om beter te presteren rond incubatietemperaturen (bijvoorbeeld 37°C). Een laboratoriumoven richt zich meer op een groter temperatuurbereik (tot 300°C). Hoewel deze instrumenten technologisch gezien erg op elkaar lijken, zijn de toepassingen erg verschillend. Een laboratoriumoven wordt over het algemeen meer gebruikt voor droogtoepassingen (zoals het drogen van glaswerk of vochtbepaling). Een incubator wordt meer gebruikt voor toepassingen met lagere incubatietemperaturen (zoals microbiologie).
Wat is het verschil tussen een natuurlijke convectieoven en een heteluchtoven?
Natuurlijke convectieovens gebruiken natuurlijke convectie als belangrijkste methode voor warmteoverdracht. Dit betekent dat de lucht zich op natuurlijke wijze mengt door het opstijgen van hete lucht. Ovens met gedwongen convectie hebben een ventilator in de kamer die de lucht actief mengt om het mengen van de lucht en de warmteoverdracht te versnellen. Over het algemeen hebben ovens met natuurlijke convectie de voorkeur bij het werken met poedermonsters. Voor andere soorten monsters hebben geforceerde convectieovens over het algemeen de voorkeur vanwege de betere temperatuurprestaties en droogtijd.
