Wat is een laboratoriumoven?
Een laboratoriumoven is een instrument voor het drogen in het lab. Elektrische verwarmingselementen verwarmen de kamer langs vier zijden en een nauwkeurige Pt-sensor meet de binnentemperatuur. Het bereik gaat doorgaans tot 300 °C.
Wat is het verschil tussen een laboratoriumoven en een laboratoriumincubator?
Technisch gezien lijken beide instrumenten sterk op elkaar: ze gebruiken allebei verwarmingselementen aan vier zijden om de temperatuur te regelen.
Een incubator is geoptimaliseerd voor stabiliteit rond incubatietemperaturen (bv. 37 °C). Een oven mikt op een breder bereik (tot 300 °C).
Ondanks de technische gelijkenis verschillen de toepassingen. Ovens worden vooral gebruikt voor drogen (glaswerk drogen, vochtbepaling), incubatoren voor toepassingen bij lagere temperatuur zoals microbiologie.
Wat is het verschil tussen een oven met natuurlijke en met geforceerde convectie?
In een oven met natuurlijke convectie verplaatst de warmte zich doordat warme lucht opstijgt en vanzelf mengt. Een oven met geforceerde convectie voegt een ventilator toe die de lucht actief rondstuwt, wat menging en warmteoverdracht versnelt.
Natuurlijke convectie heeft doorgaans de voorkeur voor poeders. Voor andere monstertypes wordt meestal geforceerde convectie gekozen, voor betere temperatuurprestaties en kortere droogtijden.
