The MLA-55 fixed angle rotor, rated for 55 000 rpm, has a tube angle of 35 degrees from the axis of rotation. The rotor can centrifuge up to eight tubes and is used in Beckman Coulter Optima MAX, MAX-XP, and MAX-E tabletop ultracentrifuges.
The rotor, lid, and handle are made of aluminium and anodized to resist corrosion. A rotor retention mechanism on the ultracentrifuge drive hub secures the rotor during the run. Lubricated O-rings made of Buna-N rubber in the rotor lid and handle maintain atmospheric pressure inside the rotor during centrifugation. The tube cavities are numbered to aid in sample identification.
The ultracentrifuge identifies rotor speed during the run by means of a magnetic speed sensor in the instrument chamber and magnets on the bottom of the rotor. This overspeed protection system ensures that the rotor does not exceed its maximum permitted speed.

De glasfilterdroger (GFD) is een innovatief lab- en pilotplantapparaat. Het is een miniatuurversie van een productiefilterdroger waarmee je makkelijk op labschaal kunt filteren en drogen met dezelfde betrouwbaarheid en voordelen als de grote PSL-filterdrogers. Dankzij de verschillende beschikbare maten is er voor elk lab een geschikte GFD. Het toestel werkt onder vacuüm en druk, heeft een verwarmde mantel voor het drogen en een verwijderbare filterkorf om het product op te vangen. De GFD-technologie vervangt de oude laboratoriumfiltratie- en droogmethoden zoals Buchner-filtratie en drogen op bakken.
Advanced Helipath Testing when it is used with a suitable AMETEK Brookfield Viscometer/Rheometer fitted with a unique T-bar type spindle, the HPQA will permit viscosity/consistency measurements in relative centipoise values for materials having characteristics similar to paste, putty, cream, gelatin, or wax. The helical test action also allows measurement of paints, dyes, lithographic inks, and many other thixotropic substances, demonstrating a viscosity drop as the material is sheared.
HPQA slowly lowers or raises the AMETEK Brookfield Viscometer/Rheometer so that its rotating T-bar spindle will describe a helical path through the test sample. The problem of channeling or separating is eliminated by constantly cutting into fresh material for meaningful viscosity/consistency measurements.
