Wat is een biologische veiligheidskast?
Een biologische veiligheidskast, ook wel bioveiligheidskast, microbiologische veiligheidskast of biosafety cabinet (BSC) genoemd, is een laboratoriumwerkstation dat de gebruiker en de omgeving beschermt tegen biologisch gevaarlijk materiaal. Bij de meeste toepassingen moet de veiligheidskast ook het monster, product of experiment beschermen tegen contaminatie via de lucht. Daarom is een biologische veiligheidskast van klasse II de meest gebruikte keuze.
Kort samengevat:
- Klasse I → beschermt alleen de gebruiker en de omgeving, zonder productbescherming
- Klasse II → beschermt de gebruiker, de omgeving én het product; de meest gekozen oplossing

Hoge insluitingsgraad, ontworpen voor optimale stabiliteit.
De nieuwste Airstream® G4 (AC2 G4) biedt een hoge mate van insluiting en bescherming van zowel de gebruiker als het product. De ECM-motortechnologie met gelijkstroommotor voorkomt instabiliteit in de luchtstroom als gevolg van spanningsschommelingen in het elektriciteitsnet van het gebouw.
Deze nieuwe biosafety cabinet met Centurion-touchscreen is gecertificeerd volgens EN 12469 en verkrijgbaar in de E- en S-serie.
De stand-bymodus wordt automatisch geactiveerd wanneer het schuifraam de ingestelde hoogte bereikt. Hierdoor kan het energieverbruik met maximaal 80% worden verminderd.
De ergonomische werkzone is voorzien van heldere, dimbare ledverlichting, een verhoogde roestvrijstalen armsteun en een groot verzonken werkblad met ruimte voor autoclaafbakken. Dit biedt optimaal werkcomfort en maakt de kast gemakkelijk schoon te maken.

De Esco Airstream® Gen 3 Klasse II biologische veiligheidskast (AC2) is een effectieve oplossing voor de bescherming van de gebruiker, het product en het milieu. De Esco Airstream® Klasse II biologische veiligheidskast is gecertificeerd volgens EN 12469 en heeft bovendien een antimicrobiële coating op alle externe en interne geverfde oppervlakken voor verbeterde veiligheid.
