Wat is een poederweegkast?
A powder weighing cabinet or balance enclosure is a type of cabinet that protects the operator from the powder products being manipulated inside. Often the application is weighing. The ventilator pulls the air from the cabinet and directs it through a HEPA H14 filter that captures the particles.
Een poederweegkast stuurt de lucht na filtering terug het lab in. Een klassieke zuurkast of trekkast stuurt de lucht naar buiten via een HVAC-systeem. Bij het manipuleren van poeders brengt de zuurkast met kanalen 2 problemen met zich mee:
- De kast staat in verbinding met de buitenlucht, dus het variabele debiet van de wind beïnvloedt het debiet van de lucht in de kast. Dit betekent drukschommelingen die de weegresultaten kunnen beïnvloeden.
- Poeders zijn zwaarder dan lucht. In de bochten van het HVAC-systeem hebben poeders de neiging om achter te blijven door de centrifugale kracht.

HEPA H14 filters zijn deeltjesfilters. Deeltjes kunnen stof of microdruppeltjes zijn. De meeste vloeibare chemicaliën hebben verdamping van moleculen die niet worden opgevangen door de HEPA filters. Open versus closed systems. Open systems are more convenient to work with and come with a lower investment cost.
