Moving Liquids with Sound
Delivering Precise, Accurate, and Cost-efficient Liquid Transfers
The Echo Liquid Handler has revolutionized liquid handling with an innovative technology that produces faster and more accurate results than traditional pipetting methods. Whether you are involved in drug discovery, compound management, genomics research, synthetic biology, proteomics, functional screening, or other research applications, you can do better science and save money with the Echo acoustic droplet ejection (ADE) technology.
Powerful but gentle in its approach, ADE drives Echo Liquid Handlers. It focuses ultrasonic acoustic energy at the meniscus of a fluid sample to eject small droplets of liquid from wells and position them precisely onto a surface suspended above the ejection point.

TTransform Your Research with the Echo Acoustic Liquid Handler
Precise & Reproducible
Transfer a broad range of fluids accurately and reliably using ADE* and DFA* technologies. Echo enables precise, contact-free acoustic transfers at volumes as low as 2.5 nL. The Echo 650 Series increases assay precision, helping reduce replicate requirements.
Fast & Efficient
Perform any-well-to-any-well transfers at high speed, reducing workflows such as DNA/RNA normalization, barcoding, and library pooling from hours to just minutes. This makes Echo a powerful tool for workflow optimization.
Sustainable and Cost-Reducing
Reduce plasticware consumption by up to 75% per year through lower reaction volumes and minimal dependence on single-use pipette tips. Lower your plastic waste and shrink your environmental footprint.

The Omics2 liquid class includes the transfer of aqueous based fluid types from Echo Qualified 384-well Polypropylene (PP) 2.0 and 384-well Low Dead Volume (LDV) source plates. Scrn2 liquid class enables the transfer of 70-100% DMSO from Echo Qualified 384-well Polypropylene (PP) 2.0, 384 well Low Dead Volume (LDV), and 1536-well Low Dead Volume (LDV) source plates.
Echo® Qualified 384-Well COC Microplate, Low Dead Volume, Clear, Flat Bottom, Non-sterile, 50 plates/case
Echo® Qualified 384-Well Low Dead Volume (LDV) Source Microplates are designed to minimize dead volume when using the Echo® Liquid Handler.
This microplate is constructed of Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (COC) for optimal acoustic transfer performance and DMSO storage. Each lot of microplates is tested and certified to meet stringent performance specifications.
Additional benefits of the microplate include:
- compatibility with heat sealing devices,
- designed for barcode customization
- and optimized for robotic handling.
- Precise Manufacturing for Superior Results.
For best results, Echo Liquid Handlers are designed to use Echo Qualified 384-well and 1536-well Source Microplates for precise and accurate liquid transfer. Echo Qualified Microplates deliver the best possible results in compound storage and miniaturized assays, and each plate is insured to meet the specifications required for consistent acoustic transfers. Labcyte performs functional qualification tests on each microplate lot with an Echo Liquid Handler to verify that our microplates deliver superior precision and accuracy, and DMSO hydration measurements.
Echo® Qualified 384-Well Polypropylene 2.0 Plus Microplate, Clear, Flat Bottom, Surface Treated, 100 plates/case.
Echo® Qualified 384-Well Polypropylene (PP) Source Microplates ensure accurate and precise transfer with the Echo® Liquid Handler. This microplate is highly resistant to solvents including DMSO and buffers making it ideal for compound and sample storage.
