Clinical Total Clinical Lab Automation CNDG GOSSELIES

CNDG Clinique Notre-Dame de Grâce - Gosselies – A successful project

Established in 1921 in Gosselies, north of Charleroi, Clinique Notre-Dame de Grâce - Gosselies (CNDG) is a local community hospital with more than 185 physicians, 50 independent paramedical professionals and nearly 1,000 employees in total.

Since the end of 2021, CNDG has been a member of the Charleroi Metropolitan Hospital Network, together with its partner, Grand Hôpital de Charleroi (GHdC).

The Clinical Biology Laboratory is a reference centre that processes an impressive volume of between 2,500 and 4,000 tubes per day, received from the hospital, general practitioners and around 50 sampling centres in the Charleroi region in Belgium.

Behind the implementation of this project: the story of a successful partnership

Dr Alexandre Grimmelprez, Head of the Laboratory, reflects on this experience:

  T
he CNDG laboratory had already been working for many years with the Belgian company Analis and with the supplier Beckman-Coulter, particularly in the fields of haematology and flow cytometry. A new building had to be constructed to – amongst other things – house the hospital’s entire clinical biology laboratory. In 2024, the laboratory moved, and a public tender for pre-analytical automation and chemistry analysers selected Analis/Beckman as the supplier.

We are now up and running with: 1x DxA5000 (track and track input, plus smart fridge), 1x Atras, 2x AU5800 and 3x DxI9000, 3x DxH900 + DxH Slidemaker Stainer II, 1x Liaison XL connected to the track and 1x DxFlex
The CNDG laboratory is now able to process not only analyses of hospital samples, but also samples taken at blood collection centres or by GPs, which account for over 80 per cent of the total.

A strong rapport and professional collaboration with Analis/Beckman
already existed and has been further strengthened.
Whether during good times or when facing the challenges inherent in the
day-to-day running of a laboratory and the implementation of new solutions,
both Analis and the CNDG wish to ensure that these ties remain as strong as
ever… as both organisations are key players in Wallonia, emphasising their
friendly, approachable nature, whilst never forgetting that the patient must
ultimately remain at the heart of our respective concerns!!
