This state-of-the-art system was delivered to Maastricht University, where it will be used by Prof. Dr. Tim Welting and his team at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (Laboratory for Experimental Orthopedics).
Prof. Welting’s research focuses on musculoskeletal disease mechanisms—specifically cartilage homeostasis, chondrocyte biology, and novel therapeutic strategies for osteoarthritis. Accurately measuring protein expression dynamics, signaling pathways, and translational changes is vital to developing disease-modifying therapies.
With the Fusion Absolute, Prof. Welting and his team now have the precision and quantitative power needed to drive their innovative research forward.
The Fusion Absolute is the first Western blot imaging system that delivers effortless absolute quantification through NIST-traceable calibration, but it was mainly its extreme sensitivity that made Prof. Welting decide to invest in this imaging system. Featuring an impressive f/0.70 lens aperture combined with deep CCD cooling, it captures even the weakest protein signals with minimal background noise.
