NWO Life is an annual scientific conference for Life scientists
Organized by the Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek, NWO Life is an annual scientific conference for Life scientists that offers inspiration in several ways: enjoy sessions with world-leading keynotes and researchers. Share your research with a full spectrum of life scientists at all career stages. Gain new perspectives by fresh insights from other experts.
Each session lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. Traditionally, this time is divided among 3–4 speakers, each presenting for 18–25 minutes (including questions). However, the format can be flexible: instead of a talk, a timeslot may feature a panel discussion, short pitches, or even a joint presentation with a company, Topsector, or societal institution.
To ensure diversity and national representation, each session includes at least three speakers and a maximum of one international speaker (affiliated outside the Netherlands). This approach provides ample opportunity for national scientists to share their work. A small budget is available to reimburse travel costs for international speakers.
The Programme Committee selects and organises the focus sessions based on submitted suggestions. Sessions will be chaired by the initiators. Here is an overview of the selected focus sessions: Discover the program & Register
