What is a hot air sterilizer?
In dry sterilization, hot air - with no water vapor or moisture - ensures that laboratory equipment and devices are sterile without having to use risky decontamination methods.
Each Memmert hot air sterilizer S is classified as a class IIb medical device. Memmert is bringing medical devices of class IIb into circulation in compliance with MDD 93/42/EEC until 26 May 2024 according to the transitional provisions by the (EU) 2017/745 article 120 (2).
From a technology point of view, a hot air sterilizer is the same as a laboratory oven, but it has medical device Class IIb certification.
