The CN 802 is a robust and flexible combustion analyzer, that works following official reference methods for the determination of carbon and nitrogen in many industrial sectors such as agriculture, environmental, food & feed, and chemical.
The proprietary CNSoftTM software powers the CN 802 and produces unsupervised, simultaneous results in 5 minutes of:
- TC: Total Carbon
- TOC, TIC: Total Organic and Inorganic Carbon (after acidification)
- TN: Total Nitrogen
- C/N Ratio
The CN 802 is a safe analyzer that does not require aggressive chemicals or time-consuming analysis steps. Just prepare your sample and walk away!
Just set your next analysis and access a wealth of information from the sample!
CN 802 Working Process

The sample is purged with a carrier and drops down into the combustion reactor where it is converted into its elemental compounds at a high temperature (above 1000°C).
Water separation is performed in 2 steps. The combustion gases are carried to the first maintenance-free physical trap DriStepTM (WT1), strategically placed after combustion, trapping 99% of water. Secondly, a chemical trap (WT2) ensures complete removal of the remaining 1% of water.
The combination of high temperature and the exclusive VcopperTM reduces nitrogen dioxide to molecular nitrogen inside the reduction furnace.
The VELP HighSensIR detector enables analysis of an extremely wide carbon concentration range, from just a few ppm up to 150 mg of absolute carbon, from micro to macro applications.
Then, Auto-regenerative CO2 absorbers trap carbon dioxide, allowing the exclusive TCD (Thermal Conductivity Detector) to detect the Nitrogen content.
