Outstanding high speed performance
High speed and easy operation. With its patented one-button control (Spincontrol S) and motorized lid lock, the Sigma 3-30KS centrifuge is remarkably easy to use, and it offers a broad range of options. LED illumination, a choice of six languages, a maximum RCF of over 70,000 x g and pleasantly low-noise operation are the factors that make this centrifuge, which fills the niche between standard and ultra centrifuges, so unique.
What makes the Sigma 3‑30KS high speed centrifuge so attractive?
The special drive system of the Sigma 3‑30KS is specifically designed for use at very high speeds. This concept allows the high-speed centrifuge to achieve RCF values above 70,000 x g with microlitre tubes.
This high-speed centrifuge also has a high-performance refrigeration system. Centrifuging at temperatures below 0°C is possible, depending on the rotor and the speed.
A total of 20 rotors are available, along with a broad range of accessories. The tube capacities extend from 0.2 ml to 94 ml in fixed-angle rotors or 0.2 ml to 100 ml in swing-out rotors. Microtiter and deepwell plates can also be centrifuged.
Ideal for high-speed applications in cellular biology, molecular biology, diagnostics, nanotechnology, and genetics research.
The Sigma 3‑30KS is also available as the Sigma 3‑30KHS refrigerated and heated centrifuge. An inert gas port is optionally available for this device series.
Controller Specifications:
- Programs: 60
- Acceleration curves: 10 linear, 10 quadratic, 10 user definable
- Deceleration curves: 10 linear, 10 quadratic, 10 user definable
- Cycle counting: Yes
12 litre capacity for production or high-capacity research
The Sigma 8KS is a refrigerated floor-standing
compact stand-alone refrigerated
centrifuge that is ideal for all-purpose use in the industrial or for all tasks in blood banks, medicine and research sectors. This high-performance centrifuge features impressive capacity of up to 12 x 1,000 ml in a swing-out rotor or 6 x 1,000 ml in a fixed-angle rotor. With a maximum RCF of 20,461 x g, even demanding separation processes can be handled efficiently. Particularly thanks to the ability to use large-volume fixed-angle rotors with high RCF, the Sigma 8KS cover a distinctly broader spectrum of applications compared to competitive units.
The motorized lid lock and its patented one-button control (Spincontrol S) makes the Sigma 8KS especially easy to use. The centrifuge has a low loading height, is pleasantly quiet in operation, and has low power consumption.
This Air-cooled version with compressor is also available in water-cooled version.
Superior labware is only the beginning when it comes to obtaining extraordinary results in the lab.
Safe, efficient workflows are as critical to your work as quality samples.
Now you can safely harvest high-quality samples in fewer steps from prep to cleanup with Beckman Coulter’s HARVESTLINE sterile bottle liners.

This vacuum grease is for o-ring lubrification. Lubrification will protect the o-ring and maintain efficiency of the closure systems.
Silicon vacuum grease is used on the O-rings of centrifuges and ultracentrifuges to:
- Prevent Sample Spillage and contamination:
The grease helps maintain a tight seal, preventing any sample from leaking out and ensuring no contaminants enter the system. - Maintain Vacuum:
In devices like ultracentrifuges that operate under vacuum, the grease helps maintain the vacuum conditions by preventing air leaks into the centrifuge vessel. This is crucial for the proper functioning of these machines.
946-mL bottles of Solution 555™ Rotor Cleaning Concentrate, 1 qty; minimum order 2 bottles.
Under normal use, as part of the day-to-day care and maintenance program of the centrifuge rotors, wash the rotor frequently to prevent the build-up of residues.
Beckman Solution 555 (339555) is a mild and efficient detergent that won’t damage the rotors.
56gr tube Spinkote Lubricant for metal threads in Beckman Coulter rotors.
The lubricant is part of the recommended maintenance procedures for certain types of equipment. Following these procedures can help ensure the equipment operates correctly and has a long service life.
This can help reduce friction, prevent corrosion, and extend the life of the threads.

The Avanti 1L polypropylene and polycarbonate bottles build upon the versatility of the Avanti Series of centrifuges to help you gain even more control of your workflow. Manufactured in an ISO-certified facility under the ISO 9001 guidelines, this bottle material meets U.S. Pharmacopeia criteria for Class VI plastics.
1. Less wasted sample
There’s now no need to spin at the maximum bottle fill volume; our 1L bottles now support partial fills from 500 mL!
2. Higher speeds and temperatures
Achieves 8,000 rpm in the JLA‑8.1000 rotor, and 9,000 rpm in the JLA‑9.1000 rotor. Offers a maximum operating temperature of 38°C.
3. Improved chemical resistance
New polyetherimide AutoVent plug and polyphenylene sulfide cap provide greater chemical resistance.
4. Easy handling
With a diameter of 76 millimeters, the wide-mouth of this bottle allows easy access for removing pellets and cleaning. The cap handle and carrier simplify transport, and the cap is easily tightened.
5. Patented HarvestLine System liners
Single-use liners provide easy-to-use, low-cost sample containment, and are compatible with commonly used chemicals and solvents.
6. Improved BioSafety*
A protective O-ring provides better containment. Head space on the top of the bottle also helps prevent leakage. Plus, the bottles are BioCertified* when used with our JLA 8.1000 or JLA 9.1000 rotors and canisters.
What are the critical factors to consider when choosing a Rotor ?
Pick the right centrifuge Rotor and include in your consideration the speed, the capacity and the throughput.
Rotor Angle (Rotor/Tube): Fixed-angle versus Swinging-bucket rotors
Fixed-angle rotors with angles between 20 and 30 degrees are generally designed to give access to higher g force. The result is then a higher efficiency in the separation, but the pellet can be more difficult to recover.
Swinging-bucket rotors with angles of 90 degrees will generate limited maximum g force. This kind of rotor offer predictable pellet location, but lower efficiency. Versatility of the rotor can be improved by the use of adaptors.
Centrifuge Rotor Speed
Speed is critical for ensuring optimal pellet density, cell integrity, and run times.
Consider the speeds required for all planned applications, and balance between g-force and centrifugation run time.
Centrifuge Rotor Capacity and Throughput
Choose a rotor that affords the best balance between number of positions (samples) and the nominal capacity.
If you are working with large volumes (e.g., more than 6 Liters), consider k-factor and scaling out.
What is k-factor ? Spin more efficiently
K-factor represents the pelleting efficiency of a centrifugation system. The smaller the number, the more efficient the run.
Compare rotor efficiencies with "k-factor".
Most researchers refer to the maximum speed of a rotor to compare efficiency. This can be misleading as factors such as tube geometry and temperature contribute to rotor performance and must also be considered.
Separation is affected by maximum speed and radius which together throughput determine maximum g-force. However, particle pathlength also affects separation time. A simple measure of overall rotor efficiency incorporating both g-force and particle pathlength is the k Factor. Generally, the lower the k Factor, the shorter the run time. This makes the k-Factor one of the most important considerations when selecting a rotor.
